One Hour Inside a Cyber Crisis av Camille Victor Prunier

We play through a cyber crisis together live, in one hour. The room is the crisis management team: you make the calls, and the scenario branches according to what you decide. It starts with one small choice on a Thursday evening, and you'll have to continue until the crisis is over. Along the way I show how the exercise is built and run in Lokkis, XLENT Cyber Security's own tabletop platform. No preparation needed, just a willingness to make tough decisions.

The scenario: At 22:40 on a Thursday, an employee approves an MFA prompt she doesn’t quite recognise. She thinks nothing more of it. Friday morning, things start to feel wrong. From there the room takes over: who do we notify, do we shut systems down, do we talk to the press, do we pay, do we involve the police? Every choice opens a different branch of the scenario — new injects, new time pressure, and consequences the participants triggered themselves.

Participants leave with:

  • Hands-on experience making crisis decisions under time pressure with incomplete information
  • An understanding of how a single user-level choice escalates into an organisation-wide crisis
  • A concrete picture of how a branching tabletop exercise is designed and facilitated
  • Three or four questions they should put to their own response plan on Monday
